Humans The Size Of Microphones are goddamn monumental. Fast, chaotic, heavy as fuck. Taking the spazzed out guitar thrash of Mohinder, injecting it with the gruff surliness of Memphis heavyweights Tragedy and peppering the musical result with lyrics full of word play that somehow reminds me of Angel Hair (if, that is, Angel Hair wrote songs with a political edge rather than their own abstract art fuckery). Another band I want to mention is the Dazzling Killmen, but whether that means anything to anyone is another matter. So with all those different flavours in the mixing bowl any hardcore kid worth their salt should already be fishing around in their voluminous pockets for the spare change it costs to buy one of these demos. True, blasting these five songs out of your speakers might not quite recreate the ugly beating you receive from this band in the live setting, but it’ll still bloody your nose and loosen a tooth or two.
