Hmm. Normally when we get sent dodgy music for review it’s sent by flashy bands with massive ambitions or fancy promo companies doing their dirty work for them. In this case though it’s just a bunch of kids in a band who have set out to make their own music, package it up in photocopied packaging and send it out on their own behalf, they don’t even have their own unique .com or .co.uk website, which is nice in this day and age where some bands have their website all singing and dancing before they’ve even played a show. Impure obviously love what they are doing. Unfortunately I can’t really say that musically I enjoyed this. It’s fairly light and fluffy indie/pop music that is simple and nice enough, but it doesn’t really do anything for me. The chorus on the first track is pretty catchy and jangly, but overall this is not really my thing I’m afraid. Fair do’s to the band, I can’t get pissed off about being sent something like this. It’s just am not really into it. Anyway, this CD is a step along the road to the band getting better, I guess they’ll keep on perfecting their craft and come up with some more songs, improve their songwriting and get the vocals ironed out a bit and who knows. I wish them well in whatever they want to get out of being in a band. They thank Brian Wilson in their inlay, maybe he can help them out.
