As the name suggests (and if it doesn’t suggest anything buy some god damn Minor Threat!) this is old school hardcore a la Gorilla Biscuits and the rest. And I think the keyword with this release is competent. Or solid. Or perhaps average?
I don’t know, I’ve played this so many times but it just doesn’t grab me. Everything is there musically and some songs (‘Take The Risk’, ‘Can’t Live Through Me’ and ‘Perspective’ especially) really do shake things up. But as a whole I just can’t get excited about this album and I think the killer is that the lyrics don’t really inspire me in the way that a good hardcore record should. I like it, I just don’t love it.
Anyway, 12 songs, good music, but I think I’ll go for the Good Clean Fun album instead.
