Wow, this is both great and fucking odd at the same time. The basic premise is that of a hardcore band but Ink & Dagger through in so many twists and turns that you’ll soon become hopelessly lost and abandon all hope of finding the exit. And maybe not even care. From hauntingly odd female vocals to crazy off kilter guitar rhythms the Fine Art of Original Sin is packed to the rafters with, dare I say, an innovative sound? So much so that songs such as ‘the Six Foot Under Swindle’ induce the nagging feeling that the whole song is teetering on the edge and any minute now the whole thing is going to collapse under its own lack of direction. And thats when Ink & Dagger reel everyone in and let fly with a totally united (not to mention) rocking sound. Fucking excellent – although the manic laughing at the end is way too disturbing for the likes of me.
To sum up : 30+ minutes of refreshingly original hardcore that almost certainly deserves a place in your home. Top stuff.
