Isan - Phonophani - split - 7

Labels: Audio Dregs
Review by: Chris Bress

Isan is pretty brutal here or brutally pretty. Reserved electronics, which I guess sounds quite a bit like Susumu Yokota (or at least up until the new album he’s just done). It’s strange background music, not all bleepy and hardly any drum samples. This track is one of my faveourite Isan tracks, it’s the perfect record to put on on your day off (as long as you’ve got some wicked comics to read as well!).

Phonophani is dirgy and even though its quiet its pretty noisy, much like the Kid606 side of the Lesser Split 7″. It’s good but nowt special.

The record looks amazing too, its clear vinyl with a lovely postcard of a very strange hovel indeed! Get this record and see what I mean!
