Jello - Chamchimzee - 12

This is a new 12″ from the Bola offshoot Jello. It’s not as dark as Bola, but it’s not exactly happy. I’m no way as into this as much as that most recent Bola album but this is pretty good. It’s very similar to Autechre (who remix the b side) but it lacks something that all of the Autechre releases I’ve heard have had. You can imagine them playing this in a factory in an old 80s film with Arnie in.

The Autechre remix is strange. There are no beats, its just a piano-led track, although it sounds pleasing to the ear I’ve yet to find any melody in this track, it’s just sort of there. I think that maybe I need to listen to this a little bit more although I’ve given it time already and I’m a busy man! I have heard that the CD is meant to be better as a whole.
