Kerrier District - Disco - LP (2004)

Labels: Rephlex
Review by: Chris Bress

Be warned, the sticker on the front of this lavish triple lp that simply states “disco” isn’t too far off the mark! Kerrier District is a new project from the dance champion Luke Vibert and unlike the amazing recent LP on warp which was just great acid house influenced electro this is straight up disco-house.

Now disco isn’t really my cup of tea, don’t get me wrong I do like it, it’s just not what I’d pop on at home so I was super suprised to like this record as much as I do. The positive thing about this record is how “musical” it is rather than just being straight up beats with poncy funk bass lines. It utilizes everything good that the genre provides and that is why it’s one of the only records like it that I own.

Rephlex have put out another great record and suprised me yet again!
