I’m not sure why, but I had been looking for this 7″ for absolutely ages. I think I saw a review of it once that made me want to get it. And now finally it’s in my hands. Luckily it doesn’t disappoint.
Basically it’s just super nice, rocking indie pop with boy+girl vocals. Really cute vocals, and a tad on the jangly side, but they do break into a lot of rocking sections, for those who can’t live without. “Difficult” is a nice, longish tune that is upbeatly downbeat. It sounds quite a sad song really, but it does up the bounce levels.
I’m going to flip to the b’s now as I feel all funny. “Gamble” is a lot more happy go lucky sounding, has a sorta lo-fi appeal and nice buzzing guitars on the chorus, you could shake your hips to this one and not feel guilty. Finally we have “Sister Skeered” which maintains some semblance of pace all the way through. Toe tappin’.
Yeah, if you like stuff like Pohgoh, Park Ave, any boy+girl indie pop that’ll make you depressed, you should probably hunt for this record just like I did. I bet they’ve fuckin’ split up or something now though. Ah man, just don’t listen to that “Difficult” song more than once or twice in a row or you’ll probably start crying. Crikey.
