Lie rocks it! I think that next to the mighty Jellyroll Rockheads, Lie are my favourite Japanese band, and this 7″ is nigh on essential for anyone into their band of THRASH! Lie play fast (naturally, being a thrash band) and have this strange layer or distortion that kind of hovers over the music. It doesn’t make it sound too lo-fi (a la Exclaim) more gives it a kind of rock and roll flavour, and they’re even are prone to breaking into the occasional rawk solo, which is cool. For the most part though it is a fast paced thrash attack with tin pot drumming, shouted vocals and gang backups. four songs in total, all with the same flavour. I’d get the LP over this, but if you want more of the same, check this out.
