Lucien N. Luciano - Blind Behaviour - LP (2004)

Labels: Peacefrog
Review by: Chris Bress

This reminds me of when I heard “œVision Creation Newson” by the Boredoms for the first time. I hadn’t heard anything quite like it at the time and although I fucking loved it, it was weird and new and I didn’t quite know how to take it. It, like this record, had a strange late night feel. It took me to being out in Barcelona totally pissed on a gorgeous late Summer night with some friends and sweet Spanish girls.

Luciano (or Lucien) is one chap from Switzerland (I think?) who makes wicked latin fuelled electro, with added dubs and techno blueprints. The Pole-like rhythms on this record are what really make it work for me, I can kind of give or take the vocals but they don’t ruin it for me. Although some people that I have played this too have said “œDude! This is music for hairdressers!” I cant help but get excited when I hear a track as great as the almost John Carpenter-esque “œLa dance des enfants”.
