Ex-pg.99 yadda yadda yadda. Let’s move on shall we?
Although it features a bizarro production job where everything seems a little muted save for the kickdrum (especially the vocals), this does exactly what it says on the tin and gets busy warping your fucking head dude! Seven songs, continuing in the vein of their fine split 7″ with Transistor Transistor, so if you’ve got that, you’ll know what to expect. For those without their finger on the pulse (i.e. me) that means real nasty garage-y rock, with an overdriven noise-rock element, that still retains a good sense of melody in the catchy, simplistic riffs. When you can make out the vocals, the chances are that they sound distorted and evil, but they’re singing a bona fide tune, which is something I can definitely get behind.
Instead of sounding like bloody Jet with a headache though, this just reeks of drunken, nihilistic, couldn’t-give-a-flying-fuckness. Everything about it, from the scrawled artwork, to the lyrics, to the general feel of the songs and production, makes this is a real piece of metal floss that you wouldn’t feel guilty dancing to. Not essential, but certainly not a bad way to spend 16.5 minutes.
