Playing thuggish, lumpen power violence with all the airs and graces of a barroom brawl, Mind Eraser are belligerently marking their territory and fucking daring you to argue the toss. Taking cues from the likes of Crossed Out and Infest the rules are set from the get-go: if you’re not playing fast as blazes then you better be slowing it down to the point of cruelty; and if that’s still not quite clear enough then you need to bone up on your Slap A Ham study guide until it all begins to fall into place. As a first outing these guys have set up a pretty intimidating stall, and while there’s definitely room for improvement (like dirtying up the sound some and really capturing the heft of the music…) this LP knocks heads rudely together in a mighty refreshing way.
