“&Seranading” is a brief preview of the final Mineral album, “EndSerenading”, so whilst it doesn’t represent the best value for money (2 tracks, one of which is also on the album), it’s useful if you’re interested in hearing something by the band, but don’t want to risk your hard earned cash on the album just yet.
So what is it? Emo. Melodic. Indie rock. And rather like their track from the split single reviewed elsewhere on these pages, it has an air of depression about it, although nowhere near to the same degree. The vocals are dead hard to pick up too, as they are ‘hidden’ behind the guitars, and are slightly muffled. Headphones are in order here. Nope, still can’t make out half of it. Oh well.
B-side, “LoveMyWay”, is a cover of the Psychedelic Furs song, a band who’s only song I could name would be “Pretty In Pink”. Actually, I recognised this one too after the chorus started. Mineral have done it in an indie rock stylee, and done it rather nicely as well.
A lot more downbeat than most of the emo stuff I like, but it’s still class. I’ll be getting the album, maybe you will too.
