NRA - Machine - CD (2003)

Labels: Hannibal’s
Review by: Kunal Nandi

With a career spanning over a decade and numerous dabblings with major and minor labels of varying quality, Holland’s NRA have certainly had the time and experience to produce the goods on this, their sixth-or-so full-length.

For a band that’s been around so long, there’s surprisingly little in the way of musical development, but happily A LOT in the way of good, honest, stripped-down, mid-tempo, tuneful rock. There’s no messing about – they get in there, do the chorus and are out again before your hi-fi counter’s got to the two-minute mark (title track excepted). Admittedly it’s nothing to set your panties on fire, but it definitely has more than its fair share of moments, which is more than I can say for most albums of this ilk.
