Anyone got an idea what the title is acronym of? It doesn’t say on this here packing. I’m figuring it’s something like: “You can do what you want when you g.e.”. Dunno what g.e. is.
This is what’s up with emo – bland boy singers. So get in with even more of your girl singers like Nymb are doing. Also makes it dead easy for me to compare them to Jejune, hee. Actually, they’d probably be just as good with a boy on vocals, but I digress.
Yeah, they do have decidedly Jejune-y elements, comes of being so floaty and slow, then building up to become loud and rock on track #2, “Aluminium Origami”. ‘Shoegaze’ I believe they call it, when things go all ethereal and moody. And track #1, “Rope + Fire”, sounds like it has a chorus of monks on it going “ah, ahhhh” whilst the crunchy, thick sounding guitars churn the indie rock a long. There’s even some screams hidden away in the many layers of sound. They round things up on the pleasant “Brews”, which brings in one of those ‘long-intros’, Christie Front Drive or Pop Unknown style. Wowee.
This is good, ja. If they do an album, I will own it. So will you if like Jejune or the Warren Commission. Meanwhile, you can just own this instead.
