This is the band that Subjugation describe as being one of the best things around right now. How could I turn down such an invitation? This is “Texas is the Reason” inspired emo-pop. Catchy, melodic, dreamy emo with beautiful lyrics. Very touching words. This is the kind of record that I put on, and it makes me feel totally relaxed and at peace with the world. It will however make you feel twinged with emotion.
This CD mini-album consisting of 4 songs their earlier EP, and three songs from their latest 7 inch. And it lasts just under half an hour. The opening track sets up the mood perfectly. Dreamy vocals and emotional lyrics, this is the almost perfect record for when you want to become all heartfelt. The first four tracks live in the floaty guitars and quietly spoken vocals catagory. While the tracks from the 7 inch tend to be a little heavier and rock out more. But I think that they’re better. Oh and the inlay is the total epitome of “emo”. Minimalistic layout and design. Very small type face and of course, no capital letters.
I don’t pretend to know much about emo, because on the grand scale of things I don’t (Andy is yer man, for emo) but I know a good record from a bad one. And this is quality music.
