Opiate - Possible - 12

Firstly this looks lovely, the cover is so nice, it’s had such a nice printing job and is a work of art. The music fits alongside the cover well. It’s minimalist, quiet and laid out really sparsely. Opiate is crackly electronica with a slight post-rock feel on some of their releases (but not so much on this one). Opiate is kind of like Isan, but with a less dance feel. Its really relaxing and is a great record to put on to wind down too. The first song is a real builder, the same crackling noises pummel through the track with a building melodic undercurrent. The second track is the best one on this record though. It reminds me of the Lexaunculpt track “tell me you love me”, although the title of this track is less romantic: “100301”. Maybe robots find it romantic. I’m sure you know if this is gonna be your thing or not.
