Oh Ebullition, will you ever fail me? This is the third of the four most recent albums off that label I’ve acquired (expecting #4, Reversal of Man, in a coupla weeks) and they all rock.

Orchid is here to end your miserable life. From the skeleton motif on the cover, and the nicely crafted insert with coffins on, you might be expecting some kind of sub-Misfits kitsch, but no. Refer to the album title. Yup, more of that chaotic emo, ‘cept Orchid take the violent route. This is heavy and brutal like Reversal of Man, flailing wildly out of control with agonised, screamed vocals and a whole lotta speed and drive. Just you wait. They start off with some kind of horror movie music, apprehension is building, then the whole thing kicks off. Kerrrunch. And from that point onwards, there is no relent until the final notes fade away. Powerful stuff indeed.
