Labels: Microcosm
Review by: Joe Caithness
First thing you notice about this record is the converse style shoes on the front, punk! You know what’s gonna happen here… First tune hits the needle, exactly as I thought, melodic quite upbeat punk riffage, the gruff vocals are just a bonus really. This bands been listening to a lot of early 90s pop punk is seems, even the production sounds 10 years old, not a bad thing by any means. I have never heard of this label this on, “Microcosm”, but if this band was from Florida, they would probably have an lp out by now on No Idea. Track 3 is more reminisant of Small Brown Bike’s efforts before they grew up, it is quite chuggy and drops in and out of winding basslines and two guys that sound like they smoke way too much ciggies shouting something in either speaker. Nice. I will definaitly see what this band churns out with their next few records, the writing on this is kind of lacking a bit in originality, but the style and the heart is there, keep your eyes out for Organic!
