Labels: Them’s Good
Review by: Russell Opie
11 songs of Fat Wreck inspired punk-rock. The album features the rather wonderful “No One” and once you fully get into the rest of the album you will discover that Otherwise are actually better than what you first believed. Maybe I am getting old, but the stereotypical pop-punk sound just doesn’t do it for me anymore. If its going to be flat-out punk then it needs something a little bit special to keep my attention these days.
This didn’t quite live up to my expectations and isn’t as impressive as their label mates latest offering – Vanilla Pod. But other standout tracks include “Circuit” and “Stuck”. Both of which are totally catchy and are fine examples of modern US copycat UK punk rock. And this band are always great to see live. So if you are a fan of that poppy punk sound with Fat-style production then you will probably dig this.
