This is a bit of a non-event. Imagine if you will some early Promise Ring. Crossed with, a version of early Promise Ring that is not as good. Vocals are wavery and very much in that patented Von Bohlen fashion (but missing the lisp) mixed with boy-ish backing vox. “It’s So Good To Be Here in Paris” relies on repetitious melodies and midwestern emo-pop riffage. Lyrically they are Promise Ring-esque too. This song could have been lifted off the “Horse Latitudes” CD with ease. I like the song quite a bit, but, um, well, I’m just kinda left wondering why they sound like they do.
Side B is not as catchy, but uses simple song structures, lots of bounce, and average production to rip off the Promise Ring a little less than the other time. Except this song is quite boring.
Hey, this band aren’t useless, it’s just like, so what? They rip off the Promise Ring so bad that even both bands names start with, woah, a P, and stuff. Orange vinyl though. Woo.
