This is my first experience of Pluramon and although it has needed more than a few plays to get into it I fucking love it. Here he is joined by the singer Julee Cruise (who David Lynch worked with on Blue Velvet) and the music is really dark and beautiful.
There are so many bands at the moment carrying on the tradition of shoe gazing music whilst utilising electronic music too (M83, Christian Fennesz and Manitoba to name but a few) but not to this extent. This record really sounds like old 4ad bands such as This Mortal Coil and the Cocteau Twins as much as it sounds like My Bloody Valentine (the tunes, recording etc) and the fusion works so well. There isn’t really a duff track on here, and the album as a whole flows gorgeously. The best track in my opinion has to be the great “hello shadow” although every track is fantastic.
