Picked this blasted thing up up after hearing some kids raving about it outside a Converge show, and it stands as proof positive that I should think twice before paying “the kids” opinions so much heed in the future. Ugh.
Rote modern day hardcore, which is basically bad ‘scary’ metal and crow-caw vocals. But, as this is more modern, we get the obligatory “emotional” parts, i.e. stupid melodic sections and imploring spoken-word pieces. Yawn.
Honestly, the more times I listen to this the more I find to pick holes in, from the crummy guitar sound to the generic riffs and dodgy artwork (yet more badly-drawn demons and religious paraphernalia) the whole thing is just a big bag of sweaty knackers. Utter bilge.
