Project X - s/t - 7

So, after the original beginnings as a Schism freebee through to the even more sketchy Lost and Found records, the Project X 7″ finally has a proper release. Really though, I’m pretty sure it’s one of those things that wouldn’t be as revered as it is if it wasn’t so limited, as I think it’s basically a joke record that got a bit out of hand.

Musically it’s pretty straight up shouty hardcore typical of it’s era and location, it’s kind of pointless to criticize too much I suppose as it was probably put together in a few days, and with that in mind there are certainly worse records from that era that probably took much longer.

So basically a collectable novelty almost but if you appreciate it’s context you might get something from it than a chuckle at ‘Straight Edge Revenge’.

Note: also a book of all the Schism zines has been issued a long side this, which is worth a read…
