Punk. Fucking. Rock. DIY. Reactionary 3. Ex-emo bands. Making a noise, short songs, playing fast, messy, scruffy. I see boys with beards and smiles and hugs, get the groove on!
7 songs on this tape, and the band has a 7″ out soon too (probably is even out when you read this). Reactionary 3 play a particulary obtuse brand of emo/punk, making a scuffed up noise that lasts around a couple of minutes a time, with impassioned, yelled vocals poured out over the top of things. The rough and raw nature of the demo really adds to the sound rather than detracts. You can pick out all the instrumentation, the leading bass, the complex guitars, the shouts – it all fits together, whilst live I would be willing to bet that they are a chaotic car crash of a band in the live context. Being as they are from Florida I am tempted to compare them to the Goddamn Deluge, as they tread a similarly less than straightforward punk rock path. Do read the lyrics too.
Good stuff indeed, and I can’t wait to hear what they do next.
