This is two French bands so I was sitting down hoping for some awesome French emo like Jasemine or Rachel or something. Hmm. Romeo is Bleeding sounds like, what, some boring metalcore band. I really can’t get into this style at all, it makes me laugh. They have these hilarious bits where they stop yelling and start singing instead, and even one part where they talk in a really low voice. Ha ha ha! Woah boy. This could be on MTV in a heartbeat, it is slickly produced, and has angry bits and melodic bits that all the 13 year old kids in hoodies would love. I don’t know what to say really, I find it very mainstream sounding. Sorry, not for me in the slightest “” though check it out if you’re into other dodgy metal bands. I would be more spiteful, but I am spitting all over the keyboard from laughing.
Thanks goodness that Waiting for Better Days are worth a listen, or I would run over this CD in my car. They start off playing tuneful and jangly indie rock, it bounces a long like Braid and the Promise Ring, though the vocals are a bit too well done for me, I’d prefer a little more edge to the sung vocals which come across as very radio friendly. They throw in hoarse screamy bits at times to spice the music up, intermingling them with quieter, mellow moments adding a bit of variety. “Es La Vida” is very different to the first song and rocks out frantically. I rather enjoyed these guys, they were catchy and energetic too “” I think they’d be pretty cool live.
Interesting split, that will likely introduce you to two new bands. One of them I got on well with, the other I made rude gestures to when their back was turned.
