Run for your fucking life, for it’s Run For Your Fucking Life!!!!!!
Occasionally I start to think that all the best band names are gone now, and that we’re going to have to put up with bands endlessly ploughing through every random 3 word combination in the dictionary. But here, here we have conclusive proof that there are hundreds of excellent names out there still to be taken. I mean. Run For You Fucking Life. How cool is that? Just how cool? They don’t even abbreviate “Fucking” to “Fuckin'”. That is how cool they are. I just wish there was a band photo in here, these guys must be some real hep cats.
RFYFL play fully charged, pissed off hardcore punk rock / thrash. Back to basics in that livewire Born Against style, overflowing with explosive guitar licks, head busting chuggy parts and vocals spat out with all the appropriate venom, blood and shards of broken teeth the vocalist can muster. So much so that you’ll have to follow the lyric sheet to have in a vague idea as to where everythings at. Musically, it’s all fast and chaotic without being too out of control or messy, exactly what I want in a straight up hardcore band. Though they are equally capable of getting all sluggish and painful on “Slow Vein”, when they need to, sick stuff. Mainly though they are ear poppingly rapid, yet still cohesive, and whoever did the mix for this got things fucking spot on as everything sits at exactly the right level.
A serious challenger to Assfactor 4 for best hardcore record of the year. That’s how good this is. Do not miss out on this record if you love shit like Hail Mary and Born Against. Nigh on essential.
