You tell me. I have no idea who they are. 3 women doing some loud singing and playing some guitars noisily – at times punkily. Fairly well. They just don’t seem to stand out from the crowd at all. Horrifyingly anonymous infact. And judging from the picture inside the case is of the band, they look weird too. They have funny faces. The chorus of the song is pretty good though, even if the band do have funny faces.
The acely titled “I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone” is more of the same, shouty chorused grrrl poonk. Veruca Salt did it better, just hear “Volcano Girls”, OK? Its probably a better song than the main track though. “Don’t Think You Wanna” starts off terribly, if you ever heard the most amateur band ever, the Red Aunts, then this is the same sort of thing, just slightly less erratic.
Its hardly terrible, its just that the mark of a good single is that you play it more than 3 times. Alas, I think that is unlikely to be the case, until 29.5 months on when I find this again and think “What the hell is that?”, put it on, and turn it off again, before returning it to the mythical “CD shelf of dust gathering”.
