Southpaws attempts to inform you of their website on the back of this record are laughable. “freesereve.co.uk”. Whoops. Maybe you’ll get the e-mail right. “freesereeve.co.uk”. Whoops again. Oh well.
Live, Southpaw totally blast. And they have that crazy guitarist. On record, they can’t quite get things to the same level. Hows it sound? Pretty traditional melodic hardcore with that similar rock influence that Leatherface have. Throw in a bit of Hooton 3 Car, and a bit of something else, and you have the Southpaw sound. Also, they had a song called “Goddess”. And this song is called “Angel”. I think they like someone.
There’s this band Tiltwheel on the other side, who I’ve never heard before. They have an album out soon on Mo’Stoat. And a pretty cool sound indeed. Think Frankie Stubbs fronting a fast pop punk band a long the lines of earlier Dillinger 4 or Pinhead Circus. Hoarse vocals and fast, toe-tapping music. Enjoyable.
