Labels: innocent when you dream
Review by: Damien Mills
With a sleeve apparently loosely based on that of the second Threadbare e.p. and seemingly named after a Shed 7 song, this cd seemed to give out mixed signals. I guess it was only a matter of time given the US hardcore scene’s obsession with the 80s that the 90s would be next, but was I really about to be initiated in to the otherwise un-imaginable and horrific world of ‘greebo-core’?
Well, not quite, there’s soap dodgers involved, but hippies rather than greebos. This is all happy clappy boy/girl ‘folk’ punk stuff, Defiance Ohio and all that. These bands seem to be dime a dozen at the minute but this is alright. It doesn’t stand out so much to me but I’m sure fans of the genre will find something to annoyingly hug each other front centre to. I just prefer my punk with a bit more pain and misery, know what i mean?
