As far as I know this is the 2nd single from Spillage on Fortunate records. One of the most bizarre records I’ve ever bought. First off it’s 7″ only, as with their previous (and excellent) ‘Stickety Bone’ single. Also it’s limited to about 3 copies so chances are you’ll never see it. The vinyl has a seriously weird cover. Try the Grouch out of Sesame Street, mutated into someone’s nightmare and drawn by a five year old in front of a collage of newspaper clippings and multiple pictures of two strange old people. Except your won’t see any of this if you buy it because of the rather neat white plastic cover it comes in.
And the music? ‘Killer’ is fantastic. Pure guitar pop of the highest quality. The lead singer, whoever she is, has one of the most distinctive voices you’ll hear this year. Great tune, great song. The other b- side worth mentioning is ‘Five Alive’, one of the tracks on the recent Snakebite City compilation. Disjointed, frantic, and brief but just as catchy as the A-side.
