Hectic post-hardcore here, along the lines of Science of Yabra, My Disco or even Ten Grand’s spicier moments. Has to be said that these folks do brisk business, nipping through thirteen tracks in a mere twenty-five minutes as sharp n’ sprightly guitar parts backflip through the air, tangling themselves up with garbled hollerings and leaving just the bassplayer’s level-headed pulse to root things in place and prevent it all tumbling down. The racket Ten Volt Shock come up with is thoroughly serviceable and enjoyable enough while it lasts, but, truth be told, I’m not quite sure whether there’s enough here to lure me back for repeated listens “” for all the frantic energy and cheeky guitar smarts there’s something about it that doesn’t quite connect, leaving me with precious few lasting memories once the disc stops spinning.
