Tex La Homa play some pretty decent pop influenced indie rock which has a depressive yet melodic flavour. At times Yo La Tengo come to mind but Tex La Homa are a lot darker and use electronic beats (which push a Factory records feel). This has some totally mint songs on it even though the record as a whole isn’t fantastic. This is a great sister record to the excellent Zelienople CD I reviewed recently.
If you used to like Her Space Holiday until he cheered up a bit and did the whole dance music with Cher vocals thing then Tex La Homa might very well be the band for you!
