The Blue Van - Revelation Of Love - CD (2005)

Labels: TVT
Review by: Andy Malcolm

Here’s another band doing that kind of 60s garagey indie rock, with a keyboard and a

singer and guitars and bass. I’m not really sure what we’re supposed to take from this. It’s

not bad, it certainly doesn’t sound as commercialised as other bands who have done this

thing in the past three or so years. Its fairly catchy and the rather monotonous vocals are

merely a minor irritation. I think if you appreciate the genre you will probably tap your

foot to it. For me though, it mostly goes straight over my head, though I sort of like the

bit where they “freak out” and “jam” or whatever it is that these goddamn hippies do when

they rehash the record collection belonging to whichever band members Dad who was the

coolest back in the 60s.
