In a nutshell, this 5 track EP is Moss Icon gone ambient. Riffs and monologues. Plus Tonie Joy is part of this 3 piece band. Side A has 3 tracks that perfectly fit as one. The drums pound and guitars drone out continuously with the same rhythm without ever sounding too exhausted. Then there is the distant distorted vocals. Uttering undeciphered words. Unexpected shouts. More repetition. Reminiscent of Unwound. Together, they are layered under whirling spacey effects to give that ambient feel. Again noticed on Side B. Super long intro that picks up the pace after 4 or 5 minutes with no vocal work at all. Slight pause then slides into a very mathy, rocking riff vibrating over wrenching shouts. Bringing the EP to an end at the slightest expectation. Overall, this makes perfect background music and definitely brings about a replay.
