Ooh, just noticed this is on Inchworm. I have a cool 7″ by Shroomunion on this label, if anyone has their 10″ btw and wants to give it to me, you know the e-mail address.
This band is cool, they appear to be doing emo, but not in a way that many bands do it. I’ve heard so little Ordination of Aaron, but it’s definitely a long those lines. Sort of half way between them, and the vocalists follow up band, Broken Hearts Are Blue. Semi-hoarse (donkey?) vocals complement the intricate post-hardcore sounds, settling into a tight groove on opening track “Slumber”. The second side just gently eases you into their world even more, “The Hero In You” is flowing and mid-paced, very nice, whilst “Couldn’t Really Expect Them To Fix Everyone” is more hyper-active with an agressive edge and a bit of Braid injected. Some of the vocal inflections on this track are totally like OOA / BHAB.
I’d say pick this up, a quirky, moody, but relaxing release. Who the hell are they though?
