I think IATDE records is collecting bands with daft names or something. Anyways, here is 8 songs of rock/punk from a UK band that I have never heard of. It clocks in at around 25 minutes and on the evidence of this it’s about 10 minutes too long at the moment for these guys, either that or my attention span is rubbish. It starts off in great fashion, the first two tracks are explosive and catchy and I really had high expectations for the rest of the songs on here, but after track 3 my attention begins to waiver and I started doing other things instead of paying attention. When the Killerest Expression are on form they are really rocking out in a pretty cool UK melodic hardcore style. Opener “Memory Loss” reminds me of early China Drum at times, it is energy packed and rocks a long. “Sid’s Song” is an absolutely dynamite slice of pop punk in a Lifetime manner – that track is particularly brilliant. But getting up around track 6, 7 and 8 I start thinking more of Nirvana and Green Day, which isn’t particularly my cup of tea. It does mention that 7 and 8 are ‘bonus tracks’ so maybe they are older recordings or something. They have a song called “Mogadishu”. Bless you!
Well, I really enjoyed the Lifetime type song and appreciate this band has put a lot of energy into this but after 3 songs this mostly passed me by unfortunately. Then again, I am hardly the person to consult about pop punk as I really don’t listen to many bands that play it outside of Dillinger 4! So I guess you should check these guys out if you are after powerful UK style stuff, and you enjoy pop punk. Can’t say fairer than that.
