From The VivianGirls is a track off their long deleted demo tape.’Janitor or Genius’ alternates between glam goth rockand infectious keyboard drones. Vocalled by drummerSean Bailey (who is a guy) and sporadically accompaniedby Amy Clarke’s (girl!) chants, this is a fast pacednumber that’ll have you movin’ and shakin’! Get thosewhips and leather! In the meantime, anticipate theirfull length LP and a split single with Black Cat #13.
Ninetynine (ex Sleater-Kinney) throw in 2 finemelodies of their own. ‘Monopoly’ being a rathersynthesized poppy indie groove. While ‘Cluedo’ cites amore lo-fi/garage influence ala lo-fi kings SonicYouth. Anyone can kill for Laura Macfarlane’s heavenlyvocals. Plus how they blend those xylophones andvibraphones are way beyond my belief. An internationaltouring band, they are definitely not to be missed!Check your local gig guide.
