What other nouns can kill? Robots can. Machines can. Computers can. What next? This Lawnmower Kills? This Toblerone Kills? This Etcha-Sketch Board Kills? WHERE WILL THE MADNESS END!
Hell. Yes. This is a four song release from a band I had heard of but never heard, but luckily I have been able to rectify that now. Initially I thought that the first side was significantly superior to the second, but actually I was wrong. “Sleepwalking Tedium” is a fast paced chaotic hardcore tune with both talked and screamy vocals. The guitar lines are melodic and career all over the place. It makes me think of the Party of Helicopters duelling with Four Hundred Years. It is very catchy and hectic at the same time, I bet they fall around a lot live. “Champion Insomniac” follows that and it’s even faster, or so it feels. Frantic yet controlled, in the way that Assfactor 4 is, just not as hardcore. Magnificent. “Blueprints of Indifference” kinda reminds me of Plunger, it is more emo than the other songs on here. They finish on “The Ender” which gets back to the manic guitar lines and chaos. How do they play that fast and keep the melody going? Impressive. Gets slower as it goes a long, settling into a classy emo groove with screamed vocals. Yaphet Yaphet Yaphet.
One of the best 7″ of the year so far, they have a CD out now too – can’t wait to hear it!
