Ouch. I bought a record with the Miles Apart on. They are not my favourite band
ever. I think they are ex-Eversor, who I didn’t really enjoy either. The Miles Apart
are Italians making pretty catchy indie rock, but the vocals just kill it. Stone
dead. The guy is just ARGH. I can’t stand him. Guitar-wise they are all strummy and
bouncy like a cross between the Promise Ring and Texas is the Reason, but this wanky
singer is ruining it to bits. I would enjoy it if it was not him. Kind of like those
Jimmy Eat World songs off Static Prevails where Adkins doesn’t sing, you know? Great
indie music, BAD VOCALS. Gadzooks. It is really really catchy though.
Three Minute Movie is a band I listened to about 5 years ago, I think I had a CD
that I sold as I was on my “if it’s not got screaming, it’s rubbish” warpath. They
are Japanese and have 3 albums worth of stuff (I think) on Snuffy Smile records. On
this split they sound like if Superchunk circa the early 90’s were from Japan.
Awesome! It’s got the excellent, aggressive indie guitar work that sprawls off into
fiddly short solo parts, intense riffy bits and a whole lot of melodic catchiness. I
is the impressed! Indeed. The second song is actually a bit less Superchunky, but
still retains the whole feeling of being really cool. Hot damn.
