Tunes For Bears to Dance To - s/t - 7

Because I am an uncultured doof this kind of release is one of my favourite types. The simple 7″ by some unknown emo band from the depths of the

USA messing about and spilling their guts out for 500 people who should know better. This band lay on the line 3 tracks of emphatic and erratic

emo, with a modern take on the style. It is pretty messy, the vocals are cried out and it sounds like quite often the singer isn’t actually at the

microphone, I hope they fall over a lot when playing live. I guess a simple comparison would be to say that it’s a bit like if Vida Blue weren’t

tight. Or something. That’s how it comes across, a lot of energy, lots of powerful guitar chugging and the occasional cute twinkly breakdown bit, with a whole lot of teary vocals imparted along with it. One song fills up an entire side of vinyl on 33rpm. Cool.

This is damned fine if you ask me. Good ole DIY emo, with song explanations too. Smart. If you want innovation and art though, go look elsewhere,

cheers.
