Under A Dying Sun, Under A Bloody Dying Sun! Well, I had to use another exclamation other than fucking, just for a change. Under A Bloody Dying Sun would be a mighty fine name for a metal band actually. UADS though are one of the premier emo bands of the 21st century, they seem to have come up with this handy knack of combining the best parts of melodic mid 90’s emo rock with the good parts of melodic mid 90’s ‘pure’ emo, and that’s pretty handy. Lots of long twinkle parts that build up with sad vocals and explode into big chuggy hardcore parts with multiple vocals (boy and girl) giving it some screamyshoutsings. The full works. I always think of them as the band that exist if Sunny Day Real Estate and Yaphet Kotto decided to form some kind of weird supergroup, though I can’t see that ever happening, so UADS have done it for you.

Anyways, once again UADS have gone and put out a 7″ which only has one song on it, just that it covers two sides. Crazies. This is the second time they have done this now! I think they stole the idea of Owltian Mia. Who they have a vague similarity to sound-wise now that I come to think of it. Now Owltian Mia, there’s an under-rated mid 90’s band if ever I heard one. This record comes in lovely hard card packaging and has an enormous glossy insert too. Wow! This probably cost a bit to put out. I guess that’s why it’s not on coloured vinyl. Joke. Coloured vinyl is not emo anyway. Fuck mid 90’s fake emo rehash bands with releases on fucking coloured vinyl. Kidding. I’m sorry. My head has gone wrong. And anyway, all mid 90’s emo rehash bands rule my world, unless they suck.

Get this and be happy. And sad. At the same time. Enjoy.

PS Shit! I just found it comes with a free sticker that has the record cover artwork on it – an angel smelling a flower, in that time honoured mid 90’s fashion. Oh my. What a release.
