Heh, I really like the record cover on this one, a piece of card to hold the 7″, and each side of the card has a picture glued onto it. Original!
Musically, Union Blue are doing the post-hardcore indie rock thing, with mainly talked vocals and repetetive guitars. They actually get singing at the end. It reminds me of a less good San Lorenzo. OK stuff, but unspectacular. I played it on 45 instead off 33 initially and it sounded like extremely lo-fi Promise Ring with a girl singer. The drum sound was way cool!
String Tricks actually do have a girl singer and play a similar style of music. Again it’s ok indie rock with emo inflections that’s nothing to shout about. I guess it’s alright.
One of the more unspectacular records I ever bought.
