Yet another neat Speedowax 7″. This one features no less than six bands and the mail order copies come in a butt ugly shade of pale green. Top stuff, especially if it features UK pop-punk favourites Skimmer and Travis Cut. I used think Travis Cut were trying to redefine the word ‘average’ a couple of years back but something obviously changed because the ‘Seventh Inning Stretch’ album is quality and the track on this 7″, ‘Exiled’, also makes good listening.

Skimmer, meanwhile, contribute a (very) short blast of their punk-pop with high pitch vocals sound thats over before it really begins. In the meantime lesser known outfits Headchecks and Dogboy offer up competent UK punk-pop that is pretty good but nothing out of this world while Funbug have a short ode to the joys of skateboarding (they don’t like it) But it is the awesome Beauty School Dropout track, ‘Hat Thief’, that makes this 7″ all the more worthwhile. Great punk-pop, heavy on melodies and superb vocals. You can’t ask for much more.
