This is one that has been sitting around my desk for a while now. Whilst I appreciate the anti-war sentiment made by the compilation (including an amazingly relevant and thought provoking Mark Twain quote on the insert, literature fans) I can’t say the metal/hardcore on show is my thing at all. The likes of The Wishinghour and Ten Minute Preview tracks are pretty much just metal-by-numbers and I prefer (if pressed) the efforts of Midasuno and Flailing Wail with the sung vocals, and the Flipside track, for its’ fun hip-hop breakdown and opening. “If pressed’, being the operative phrase.
Although this comp and I are a bit of a miss match, it at least made me think for a few minutes. Metal buyers looking for British locals playing this kind of thing could do far worse I suppose.
