You may have been unfortunate enough to hear this record on radio 1 where it’s been dribbling off the playlist of late. If so then I won’t insult you by telling you what you already know. That this band is the latest in a long line of groups of young men grabbing their chance to violate the corpse of “post punk”. The first song on this goes “my body is your body, I won’t tell anybody” way to rhyme, boys. You know the score, disco beats, sub Killers vocalising, “edgy” guitars. As a scientist I find this offensive. In fact as a member of the human race I find this offensive, to think that things like this are being perpetrated by members of our own species. Although one song is almost bearable “it’s a hit” which is just about acceptable if it comes on randomly on the radio as it has a really catchy riff (and almost sounds like This Ain’t Vegas!). Not enough to save them from the wall when the revolution comes though.
