Review by: Damien Mills

As far as I know copies of this have been knocking around for some time so i’m surprised it hasn’t been reviewed already given the attention this band has been receiving recently. Is there a reason for this? As usual I’m not up on it.

So this is a screamo band suffering / benefiting (depending on your outlook) from a whole lot of ex-members of other currently very fashionable outfits (you probably know better than me) and has a pretty limited press run I believe….

Oh yeah! the actual music! Well, when I put this on I thought I had the wrong cd, as it started with a long(ish) bit of fiddling around and not much else, rather than the expected “RAAAAGH!!! BASH! BASH! BASH!” which is a good way of making slightly cynical reviewers sit up and take notice. When the songs kick in for real they do so solidly and fans of this stuff will get very, very excited, and so they should, as it’s actually pretty good rocking stuff, the vocals (there are like 6 people in this band so I’m guessing there are 2 singers) are pretty low in the mix and have that weird bark that works best for this stuff (though I often find this technique lacks emotional impact, but here that is thankfully not the case.) Err yeah, so when the 7″ and the Funeral Diner split finally make it this far round the world you should ‘invest’, you might even be surprised!
