Wolves - Art. Culture. Work - LP (2002)

Awesome hardcore! Wolves are ex Orchid and The Red Scare I think but they don’t sound like either band really. They seem to try and have a bit of the NOU / Refused imagery like the Panthers do and they also have radio samples between some songs like Refused and QOTSA . I don’t think they add much to the sound but they don’t make ’em shit either. The actual songs are great UOA-inspired hardcore punk with vocals that are a lot like Merel. I really like the guitars on this record, they really remind me of that awesome UOA track “flux” as well as some of the Palatka or Assfactor 4 guitars. The first and last tracks are the best – totally brutal!
