Yet another fine release by the awesome peepz at Deleted Art. Hot stripey neon pink Andy-Warhol-esque cover and bubblegum pink vinyl. Yum.
XBXRX (w/ Quintron + Miss Pussycat) : Rock Rock Rock Rock RA RA Rock und Roll!!! The possessed fingers run up and down the keys with a neverending riff that gets stuck in your left brain or maybe right as these fully deranged kids tightly spazz out snotty nyah nyah nyah vocals Le Shok/Arab On Radar style and then leave some messy electronics at the back.
The Sick Lipstick : Ex members of Black Cat #13 doing what they’ve always been good at. Churning up catchy, dancey no wave melodies for the greasy-brunette-white-belt-wearing kids. They throw in ‘Teenage Robots’ which have an intro quite akin to a song by German goodness Die Kosmo Gesellschaft and then it sort of slips in to a familiar BC#13 fashion. Kinda like a sequel to ‘Childish Robot’ if you’ve heard that. (It’s on The Experiment Vol.1 LP.) Frankly speaking, I didn’t find it that amazing as I was probably expecting something totally different. But not a problem there. It’s still good to get mah booty shakin’. Raar.
