Zombie Apocalypse - This Is A Spark Of Life - CD (2004)

Zombie Apocalypse was basically Shai Hulud dicking about, but I guess lots of bands, let alone ones that serious, need to indulge themselves from time to time. The record itself simply sounds like Shai Hulud playing really really quickly and with much less wordy lyrics, if you heard the song they did for the ‘Revelation 100’ comp then it’s mostly like that.

But is it any good? Well only a few of the songs really stand out properly which I guess is a common problem with records by bands playing ultra fast/short songs, but as an overall work it all fits together nicely enough though I’m not sure how long they can carry on with it for, but with Matt Fox’s inability to maintain a line-up for more than ten minutes and his day job’s demise, maybe they wont have to….

If it’s something you are already going to be suspicious of then don’t bother, if you like Shai Hulud you’ll probably be into this, and anyone else just keep an open mind i guess…
